Case Study | Naxianghai Adventure World
There's a place in Weihai
that embodies the city itself—
that place is Xianghai.
China's Naxianghai—National AAAA-Level Scenic Area
Radiant by day, enchanting by night,
Nestled in Weihai, China's most beautiful coastal city.
The sight of Naxianghai is not merely awe-inspiring.
It is love at first sight.
This time, we're excited to share with you
the indoor cultural tourism complex “Naxianghai Adventure World”
recently developed by Elephant Art.
Spanning an impressive 12,000 square meters,
this comprehensive attraction offers immersive experiences
for visitors of all ages.

Naxianghai Adventure World is nestled within a thousand-acre black pine forest in Shandong's Naxianghai National 4A-rated scenic area. It borders Weihai's Eastern Coastal New City to the west, adjoins the millennia-old fishing village of Gangxi Town to the south, and overlooks 16 kilometers of pristine natural coastline to the north, boasting exceptional geographical advantages.
With abundant tourism resources, substantial visitor potential, and excellent transportation accessibility, coupled with its unparalleled geographical advantages, it integrates a full spectrum of natural landscapes—including the sea, beaches, hot springs, forests, rivers, and lakes—making it an exceptional vacation paradise.
During the preliminary planning discussions for the project, our team quickly reached consensus with the client. We will integrate Naxianghai Adventure World around the fusion of wellness and cultural tourism, with health and fitness elements at its core. Employing creative and regenerative design approaches, we will conduct a comprehensive, in-depth integration of the project's inherent natural resources. This will establish Weihai's first indoor-outdoor one-stop comprehensive adventure center, combining natural exploration, health and fitness, technological entertainment, and themed dining. This all-in-one destination caters to all ages and seasons.

In this era of mass tourism, whether for road trips or nearby getaways, Naxianghai Adventure World caters to the needs of diverse visitor segments, creating a well-integrated tourism consumption ecosystem.

Naxianghai Adventure World spans 12,000 square meters and stands as Weihai's first large-scale indoor adventure theme park integrating joyful exploration, cultural education, recreational science, and technological experiences. It features four distinct themed zones: the Tech Amusement Pavilion, Adventure Experience Center, Tech Sports Pavilion, and Flight Cinema.

The overall structure of the entire project ingeniously leverages the advantages of its pristine geographical resources, realizing the original intent of the conceptual planning and design for the project's business mix. Under the client's innovative business model approach, Elephant Art integrates traditional arcade entertainment with a distinctive esports center. This creates an adventure-themed tech amusement park centered around esports and pop culture, offering an immersive experience for esports enthusiasts and anime fans. Leveraging existing online fan communities to drive foot traffic, it provides diverse Instagrammable spots for the new generation. The venue's spatial design fully embodies the functional requirements of this business model.
Beyond this, the Elephant Art Design team did not allow the original building structure to dictate the layout of the Adventure Experience Center. Instead, they keenly identified the unique characteristics of each section and leveraged their structural differences to achieve a separation of dynamic and tranquil zones. The 1,800-square-meter Adventure Challenge Center was divided into three distinct areas, giving rise to a design concept centered around the theme of ice and fire.
The Adventure Challenge Center's “Ice and Snow Adventure Experience Pavilion” is the flagship product of Elephant Art, an upgraded version of the Malaysia Ice and Snow Pavilion. It perfectly recreates scenes from Frozen—including the ice castle, magic mirror, and fairy tale elements—in a 1:1 scale. The lifelike scenery and novel play spaces break away from traditional ice and snow park experiences, seamlessly integrating the movie into leisure entertainment.
Notably, in conceptualizing the “Family Growth Center” within the Tech Sports Pavilion, designers deliberately avoided overly vibrant color schemes. Design transcends mere form and technique; it ultimately revolves around spatial integrity and consumer experience. Thus, this area embraces a warm, nurturing concept throughout its design, fostering comfort and reassurance.

The Xianghai Adventure World Technology Amusement Pavilion spans 3,800 square meters across two floors. The first floor features a futuristic aesthetic dominated by space gray, galaxy white, and starlight blue. Utilizing aluminum panels, mirrored metal surfaces, linear lighting, and an intelligent control system, it creates an immersive, high-tech play environment.

Dazzling linear lights weave continuously between ceiling and walls, while white mirrored aluminum panels combined with programmed lighting create a sensory experience that blends speed and technology.
The second-floor karting club creates an immersive racing experience centered on speed and excitement through the use of light, music, and dynamic lines. Its uniquely designed curves seamlessly connect to straight-away acceleration zones, incorporating uphill climbs and downhill descents into the track layout. This allows drivers to experience the thrill of sharp turns and aggressive charges in a short span, delivering the most exhilarating track experience imaginable.

If you're a beginner, don't worry—our professional instructors will guide you through racing techniques and provide safety training. Beyond standard vehicles, we offer kid-friendly karts designed for family fun, perfect for parent-child outings. For seasoned racers, this is your premier competition platform with high-stakes rewards—an extraordinary racing experience awaits.

This area features a scientifically planned design centered around the theme of “Discover Yourself, Experience Life, Challenge Yourself,” with four distinct themed zones: the Arcade Zone, Esports Zone, VR Simulation Experience Zone, and Electric Karting Zone. Through these four exciting and novel entertainment options, every visitor is captivated from the moment they arrive, with each step brimming with the thrill of the unexpected.
Here, visitors can not only experience a dazzling array of high-tech gaming attractions but also enjoy professional esports tournaments both domestic and international, including the China Esports Racing Championship held periodically. According to the brand operator, the venue will also engage in deep collaboration with the FIA FFTB Driver Talent Discovery Program, filling a gap in China's esports events landscape and driving a new wave of cultural industry upgrades in Weihai.
The Adventure Experience Center spans 1,800 square meters. Facing dual challenges from both the business model and the property itself, Elephant Art proposed a thematic design concept during the initial brainstorming sessions with the client: the Icefire Islands from the popular Japanese manga One Piece and the theme of A Song of Ice and Fire. This concept immediately resonated with the client.
Therefore, the Adventure Experience Center at Nanhai Adventure World is divided by the central service area, connecting two major themed pavilions. It embodies a design concept centered on ice and fire, seamlessly integrating elements from ceiling to floor. The left side of the first floor primarily features adventure expansion activities, rock climbing, and a fitness obstacle course souvenir area, while the right side focuses on an ice and snow-themed amusement park.

The left side of the first floor primarily features adventure and expansion activities. Through dozens of thrilling challenges, your intellect, endurance, and imagination will be constantly tested. Within the fantastical maze, you can explore thorn-filled jungles like a protagonist, traverse numerous obstacles, and experience the exhilarating challenges of each distinct level.

The first floor's right side features a 900-square-meter ice and snow theme park. Given the park's highly interactive and experiential nature, its design must prioritize not only ice and snow landscaping but also the overall visitor experience and the creation of an authentic Antarctic environment. Therefore, throughout the preliminary planning and design phase—encompassing the storyline, target audience positioning, floor layout, functional selection, and specialized design—operational thinking must be integrated into every aspect. This approach lays a solid foundation for subsequent operations and ensures the delivery of a sustainable project.

Inspired by Frozen, this ice and snow theme park features three major entertainment zones: the Enchanted Forest Ice Lake, Nordic Snow Village, and Ice Castle. Overlooking the Nordic Snow Village, it caters to the recreational needs of young adults, families, and skiing enthusiasts. By authentically recreating snowy landscapes and offering diverse, challenging, and fun attractions, the park helps children discover their potential while enhancing athletic skills, social abilities, and teamwork spirit through exploration and play.

Here, you can build snowmen, have snowball fights... let loose and revel in the snow, enjoying all the fun winter has to offer. When you visit Naxianghai Adventure World, you absolutely must embark on a magical snow adventure!

Leveraging sports and wellness as its driving force, the 2,800-square-meter Tech Sports Pavilion at Naxianghai Adventure World is set to usher in a new era of integrated cultural tourism. By fusing health and wellness with sports, culture, and technology, this pioneering facility will empower the industrial upgrade of Naxianghai Adventure World, support the sustainable development of indoor cultural tourism complexes, and fulfill its mission: “Making journeys happier and healthier.”

The entire facility spans two floors. The first floor primarily features multiple functional zones including bowling, archery, basketball courts, badminton courts, and training rooms. Designed in a contemporary sports style, it serves as a family-friendly activity center. For sports enthusiasts, it offers a comprehensive sports complex catering to diverse athletic needs, allowing everyone to fully relieve stress and unleash their energy through exercise.
The second floor primarily uses color and irregular shapes to create a layered, relaxed, and comfortable children's growth center that caters to children's diverse natures. Soft, vibrant tones foster a harmonious blend of activity and tranquility, evoking a refined, intimate atmosphere. Unique forms serve as the primary compositional elements, enhancing the space's visual tension. Adorable animal motifs are artfully scattered throughout, allowing every child to relax and immerse themselves in this world.
In spatial design, the architect selected functional elements and planned circulation paths based on children's innate love of play, creating multiple themed attractions such as a building block slide, career experience zone, bubble ball court, fun trampoline, and space capsule. Through the interplay of visual and tactile experiences, the layout achieves distinct yet progressively layered dimensions, immersing children in a whimsical fairy-tale world where they can roam freely and play without restraint.

Additionally, there are multimedia interactive classrooms that engage audiences through light, sound, and visuals, offering an experience of a fantastical world where imagination knows no bounds.
As one of the indoor attractions at Naxianghai Adventure World, this venue employs digital media presentations such as sound, light, electricity, AR/VR, and other technologies to deliver an immersive entertainment experience. It aims to establish Naxianghai Adventure World as a visual learning playground, where every visitor can embark on an immersive flight journey through cutting-edge entertainment technology at the Flight Cinema Pavilion. As the Flight Cinema Pavilion is currently in its preliminary planning phase, we will not provide detailed introductions or demonstrations at this time.
According to the brand operator,
Naxianghai Adventure World is set to officially open to the public this May.
This marks another upgrade for Elephant Art in the indoor cultural tourism complex sector,
establishing a new benchmark for Naxianghai,
adding a fresh signature attraction to the city,
and jointly embarking on an entirely new journey!

What kind of project will it be next?
Let's wait and see~
