Building an amusement park is a long-term investment. Clear planning and the right partner help get the project off to a sound start. Whether you are developing a family entertainment center or a large indoor amusement park, working with a design company that understands your needs makes it easier to turn your plans into a workable project.
A professional amusement park design company's role should extend beyond drawings. Relevant project experience, a clear design approach and an understanding of local requirements are useful criteria when choosing a partner. They help you assess whether the company can connect design with fabrication and on-site installation while taking future operational needs into account.
An amusement park project involves planning, budgeting, design, procurement, installation and safety checks. Each stage affects the others. Moving an attraction, for example, may change visitor circulation, nearby scenery and the site's technical requirements. If these decisions are made separately, discrepancies may only become apparent during construction, leading to costly revisions and delays.
Coordinating the work brings several aspects of the project together:
The scope of work needs to be clear, too. Who supplies the equipment? Who carries out local building work? Who handles inspections and approvals? A clear turnkey proposal should define these responsibilities alongside the design and delivery services included.
Once the scope is agreed, the design needs to address specific spatial questions. How will the entrance feature relate to reception? How will visitors move between activity areas? How will the walls and ceilings carry the theme throughout the venue? These decisions shape what visitors see when they arrive and how they move through the space.
At ESAC, our design team develops the layout and theming, while our own factory produces custom entrance features, themed forms and scenic elements. The forms, materials and dimensions shown in the renderings are developed into construction drawings and fabrication details. Shipping, on-site installation or installation guidance is then arranged according to the project location and agreed scope.
Amusement equipment also needs to fit the spatial design. Its dimensions, use and installation requirements all affect the layout. Having one team coordinate themed design, fabrication and installation, in collaboration with equipment suppliers, helps everyone work from the same plan and gives clients a central point of contact for project requirements.

Our completed projects show how these elements come together. HOPALUPA focuses on family entertainment, while PLAY STAR emphasizes urban recreation and social activities. Both bring a range of activities into one venue, but their audiences and activity mixes call for different themes and zoning approaches.
The HOPALUPA Family Entertainment Center in Poland covers 15,000 m². We provided design and construction for the venue, which combines children's play, trampolines, arcade and VR activities, themed party rooms and dining.
Color and scenery give each area its own character. The children's area draws on a garden setting, with trees, butterflies and animal forms. Party rooms explore themes such as candy, basketball and space. In the VR area, darker colors and geometric lighting create a different atmosphere.
These contrasts show how a family entertainment venue can accommodate varied activities without repeating the same decorative treatment throughout.

Located in Xiamen, China, PLAY STAR Super Urban Amusement Park also covers 15,000 m². Our design and construction scope included concept development, spatial storytelling and scenic finishing, with a focus on urban recreation and social play.
Retro gaming graphics, futuristic lighting and industrial finishes define the interior. Arcade games, console gaming, go-karting and digital sports each require different amounts of space and different circulation arrangements. Quieter social areas provide places to rest and talk, allowing visitors to change pace between activities. Distinct settings and decorative details give each zone its own identity, while colors, graphics and materials maintain visual continuity across the venue.

When reviewing these projects, look beyond the styles you like to consider how the design supports the activities and the people using the space. The same questions offer a starting point for your own project: who you want to attract, what experience you want to offer and how the available space can accommodate those ideas.
Comparing relevant project experience with a clearly defined scope of work can help you decide whether a partner is a good fit. For a new venue, expansion or refurbishment, a floor plan and an outline of your target audience make the initial discussion more concrete.
