HappyLand’s Xiamen concept flagship brings projection-enhanced drift cars, VR, arcade games and music-based activities together in a 1,100+ sqm venue built around “Interstellar Expedition.” ESAC provided the project’s design, connecting its entertainment zones through a spaceport-inspired entrance, metallic finishes, contrasting lighting colors and futuristic installations. Families and younger players can explore different interests within one themed setting.

HappyLand’s Xiamen concept flagship combines projection-enhanced drift cars, sci-fi VR, ticket-redemption games, claw machines, racing simulators, shooting games and rhythm-based activities. The venue aims to give families, younger players and groups of friends a choice of experiences during the same visit.
Visitors arrive with different expectations. Children may head straight for an interactive machine, younger players may seek racing or rhythm challenges, and companions need to move between watching, waiting and joining in. The project team needed to accommodate these needs within a limited footprint while preventing the varied machine designs and lighting effects from fragmenting the venue’s identity.
We used “Interstellar Expedition” as the shared story, carrying sci-fi elements from the entrance through the entertainment zones. Even when visitors choose different activities, they remain connected to the same theme as they move through the venue.
The design team established the main visual palette with metallic finishes and ice-blue and rose-pink lighting. Linear lighting and futuristic installations extend these elements across the different zones.
Visitors can drive through a changing projected environment, put on a VR headset to explore a virtual setting, or take on racing, shooting and skill-based games. Those looking for lighter activities can try claw machines or music games.
Companions do not have to operate a machine throughout the visit. Parents can watch their children play, friends can cheer on a challenge, and visitors can pause for photographs between activities. The team incorporated themed details around the equipment so that participation, waiting and watching all remain part of the interstellar setting.
Visitors arriving from the shopping mall first encounter metallic wall finishes and ice-blue and rose-pink lighting. The design team used a dark background to emphasize the illuminated forms, giving the entrance a spaceport-like appearance and introducing the Interstellar Expedition story.
The team carried the same materials and colors into the interior. Clean lighting lines and futuristic installations connect the entrance with the entertainment spaces beyond.
Visitors can take in the setting and photograph the scene with their companions before choosing an activity. Parents and friends who are waiting can also discover details in the surrounding forms and light, allowing the themed experience to begin on arrival.
In the drift car zone, visitors control their vehicles within a changing light-and-projection environment. Projection and real-time positioning technology create moving starlight beneath the cars and galactic imagery along the track, bringing driving and visual interaction together.
For players, the track is part of the interstellar scene. As they adjust their direction, they experience the changing imagery around them and take an active role in the expedition.
Families and friends can share the driving, interaction and competition. This zone introduces a more energetic pace to the visit and supports HappyLand’s focus on entertainment that different age groups can enjoy together.
In the VR zone, visitors can put on a headset and choose from fairy-tale adventures, game-based challenges, puzzles and virtual roller coasters, moving from the physical venue into different virtual settings.
Children and adults can select experiences that match their interests. Some prefer exploring a story, while others seek a more dynamic adventure. Families can also participate together through suitable interactive content.
Players experience speed through physical driving in the drift car zone and enter another world through imagery and interaction in the VR zone. These activities offer different ways to participate, allowing visitors to change the pace of their exploration during the same visit.
Visitors in the arcade zone can choose ticket-redemption games, claw machines, racing simulators or shooting games according to their interests.
Players who enjoy skill-based challenges can collect tickets and exchange them for gifts. Those seeking a lighter activity can study a target inside a claw machine, adjust their position and attempt a capture. Friends can watch one another play and share the moment of success or another attempt.
Racing and shooting games bring a different pace. Players use driving, aiming and reaction skills to complete challenges, while companions can join the competition.
With each machine contributing its own screens, lighting and form, the design team used consistent surrounding materials and themed elements to keep the space connected. Visitors can switch activities while remaining within the same interstellar environment.
Children can join in through character-themed machines and water-shooting games with accessible scenarios and controls. They respond to the on-screen action through aiming and physical inputs, receiving immediate feedback as they play.
Music game players follow the beat through timed controls or dance steps. Machine lighting, sound and movement create an energetic atmosphere that also draws the attention of watching companions.
Parents can accompany their children, while friends can cheer on players or exchange tips. Even when companions are not operating equipment at the same time, they can share the experience through watching and interacting.
For this project, ESAC used “Interstellar Expedition” to connect the entrance, lighting, themed installations and entertainment zones. Each area retains its own ways to play while contributing to a shared spatial identity.
The design team applied metallic finishes and ice-blue and rose-pink lighting throughout the venue, adding futuristic installations to develop the surrounding scenes. As visitors move from the entrance to drift cars, VR, arcade or music games, they encounter visual elements that relate to one another.
The 1,100+ sqm concept flagship accommodates physical driving, virtual exploration, skill-based competition and casual interaction. Families and friends can participate together or choose their own activities, while the connected theme brings these different rhythms into one entertainment space.

ESAC provides themed space planning and design, custom themed fabrication, and on-site installation or installation guidance. Clients can commission a single stage or several stages, with the scope agreed according to the project’s needs.
You can start by sharing your project location, floor plan, area, ceiling height and site photos. If you have a target audience, theme, budget or expected opening date, please include these details to help the team assess your requirements.
We tailor the theme, layout, brand identity and themed installations to your brand, audience and site conditions. If you already have brand guidelines or licensed materials, our design team can use them as the basis for the work.
Our project team assesses costs and stage-by-stage timelines based on the site’s size, service scope, design detail and customization requirements. For overseas projects, the schedule also takes shipping, customs clearance and local construction conditions into account.
We can assist with equipment selection, layout integration and supplier coordination, and arrange procurement where agreed. Specialist suppliers provide the equipment, with its specifications, warranty terms and after-sales responsibilities confirmed before purchase.
Before fabrication, our team confirms drawings, dimensions, materials and finishes with you, using color references, material samples or mock-ups where needed. We also carry out production-stage and pre-shipment checks against the agreed acceptance requirements.
ESAC can arrange packing, shipping and on-site installation, or provide technical documents and installation guidance for your local team. Both parties confirm logistics responsibilities, site preparation requirements and related costs in advance.
When you request a revision, our team assesses its impact on design, fabrication and construction, then confirms any cost or schedule changes. We provide warranty and maintenance support under the agreed scope and contract; equipment suppliers handle their own after-sales responsibilities.
